Honda ZR-V Hybrid India: Honda is preparing to make a strong entry into India’s premium SUV segment with the upcoming Honda ZR-V Hybrid. Unlike the brand’s current lineup, which mainly includes the City, Amaze, and Elevate, the ZR-V will target buyers looking for a premium hybrid SUV packed with advanced technology, luxury features, and impressive performance.
The company has already opened bookings for the ZR-V Hybrid following its India debut in May 2026. Customer deliveries are expected to begin this month, making it one of Honda’s most anticipated launches of the year.
Honda ZR-V Hybrid Will Become the Brand’s Flagship SUV
The Honda ZR-V Hybrid India is expected to become the company’s flagship passenger vehicle in India. Unlike Honda’s locally manufactured models, this SUV will arrive as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) import, indicating that sales volumes are likely to remain limited.

The premium positioning also places the ZR-V in a different category compared to Honda’s existing products. With an expected price ranging between ₹40 lakh and ₹50 lakh, the SUV will compete against premium rivals such as the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq, and Jeep Meridian.
Strong Hybrid Powertrain Promises Performance and Efficiency
Honda will offer the ZR-V with a single powertrain option in India. The SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a dual-motor strong hybrid system, producing a combined output of 184 hp and 315 Nm of torque.
Power is delivered to the front wheels through an e-CVT automatic transmission. Honda claims the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8 seconds, reach a top speed of 172 km/h, and deliver an impressive fuel efficiency of 22.80 km/l, making it an attractive option for buyers seeking both performance and economy.
Premium Cabin Loaded With Modern Features
Inside the cabin, Honda has focused on offering a practical yet premium experience. Instead of replacing every control with a touchscreen, the company has retained physical buttons and rotary controls for frequently used functions, making daily operation more convenient.
The SUV features a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, and a premium 12-speaker Bose sound system.
Safety Gets Equal Importance
Honda has equipped the ZR-V Hybrid with a wide range of safety technologies designed to enhance driver confidence and passenger protection. The SUV comes with eight airbags, a 360-degree camera, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and several advanced driver assistance features.
The inclusion of Level 2 ADAS provides additional convenience during highway driving by offering intelligent safety functions that assist the driver while maintaining overall vehicle control.
Spacious Design With Practical Family Appeal
The Honda ZR-V measures 4,567 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, and 1,621 mm in height, while its 2,655 mm wheelbase helps provide generous cabin space for passengers. The SUV also offers a luggage capacity of up to 1,313 litres with the rear seats folded, making it practical for long journeys and family trips.

The Honda ZR-V Hybrid represents an important step for Honda as it enters India’s premium hybrid SUV segment. With its strong hybrid technology, refined driving experience, feature-rich interior, and advanced safety package, the SUV aims to attract buyers looking for luxury and efficiency in a single package.
Although the ZR-V Hybrid will arrive as a CBU model with limited availability, it has the potential to strengthen Honda’s presence in the premium SUV market. Buyers interested in a hybrid SUV with modern technology and premium comfort will certainly find the ZR-V worth considering.
