Ather New Electric Scooters Coming: India’s electric scooter market is growing at a rapid pace, and Ather Energy is preparing to make its biggest move yet. After building a strong reputation with premium electric scooters, the Bengaluru-based company is now focusing on reaching more customers by introducing affordable models and expanding its product portfolio.

Adding to the excitement, Hero MotoCorp has approved a massive investment in Ather Energy, giving the company the financial strength to develop new products, improve manufacturing, and expand its charging network. Along with updated scooters and future electric motorcycles, Ather is preparing for an exciting new phase.

Hero MotoCorp Strengthens Partnership with Ather Energy

Ather New Electric Scooters Coming has approved an investment of up to ₹1,000 crore in Ather Energy, further strengthening a partnership that has lasted for nearly ten years. This major investment is expected to help Ather accelerate its future plans while expanding its presence in India’s fast-growing electric two-wheeler market.

The fresh capital will support product development, increase production capacity, improve software technology, and expand Ather’s charging infrastructure. As competition continues to grow in the EV segment, this investment gives the company additional resources to launch new products more efficiently.

Ather Rizta Continues to Drive Strong Sales

The launch of the Ather Rizta has transformed the company’s sales performance in a short period. Designed for families and daily commuters, the scooter has quickly become Ather’s highest-selling model and has helped the company achieve record monthly dispatch numbers.

To improve reliability, Ather has introduced LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery cells in selected Rizta variants. The company has also updated battery packs across both the Rizta and 450 series, offering better durability and improved thermal stability without compromising performance.

Updated 450 Series Gets Better Battery Technology

Ather has also refreshed its popular 450S and 450X electric scooters with updated battery technology. The 2.9 kWh battery pack continues to deliver a claimed IDC range of 122 km in the 450S and 126 km in the 450X, making both scooters suitable for daily city rides.

The larger battery option has now been upgraded to 3.5 kWh, increasing the claimed IDC range to 161 km. The adoption of LFP battery chemistry is expected to improve battery life, enhance safety, and offer better thermal performance during regular use.

Affordable EL Platform Scooter Coming Soon

Ather has officially confirmed that its first electric scooter based on the all-new EL platform will make its public debut during Community Day on August 29. The upcoming scooter is expected to target budget-conscious buyers with an estimated starting price of around ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new EL platform has been developed to support multiple future electric scooters. Reports suggest battery options ranging from 2 kWh to 5 kWh, allowing Ather to introduce different models across various price segments over the coming years.

Electric Motorcycles Are Also on the Way

Ather is not limiting its future plans to scooters alone. The company is actively working on the Zenith architecture, which will serve as the foundation for its upcoming electric motorcycles. Although the production version is still under development, Ather could reveal a concept model during Community Day.

This move highlights Ather’s long-term ambition to become a complete electric mobility brand. By expanding into both scooters and motorcycles, the company aims to attract a wider audience while strengthening its position in India’s rapidly evolving electric vehicle market.
